Internet and Computer Usage Policy
In
the library as well as the rest of the school, computers are
considered tools just like a pen, pencil, or paper. Therefore when
students are using computers they are expected to be working on a
task. Even with the number of computers in the building, there is
always someone waiting to use machines. Computer usage is considered
a priveledge not a right.
With this thought, students are to be aware that they need to be on task or they will be removed from the computer. There is to be no game playing unless related to topic or approved by the instructing teacher. There is to be no inappropriate searching on the Internet. Teachers have the right to question the validity of any search or web site that a student is looking at regardless of the location of computer(lab, library, classroom, etc.) If the site is inappropriate, the teacher has the right to remove the student from the machine. If the site is objectionable the student faces disciplinary action and loss of Internet privileges.
