Patton is 50

The Middle School Turns 50

Patton Middle School school opened its doors to staff and students as Unionville Middle School on Monday, January 29, 1973. The school celebrated this momentous occasion on Friday, January 27 in the Patton Middle School Auditorium. The event kicked off with remarks from current Patton Principal, Dr. Steve Dissinger after which the PTO presented the school with a gift - a beautiful new podium to be used for many years to come! Former Patton Principals, Mr. Bruce Vosburgh and Mr. Tim Hoffman, and the daughter of Charles Patton, Nancy Patton also shared some remarks and memories of their time at Patton. Former students who were in 6th, 7th and 8th grade in 1973 were also in attendance to share in the celebration. The current Patton Student Council was recognized for its involvement in the festivities.  Lastly, members of the school's very first Student Council were reunited for a photo in front of their photo with Mr. Patton from 1973!  At the conclusion of the program, attendees enjoyed some cake and caught up in the Patton Library!
