Good Afternoon Students and Parents,

SHOC (Students Helping Other Classmates) is the Unionville High School student-led transition program for incoming 9th grade and transfer students. Many of you may have heard of SHOC or had older brothers and sisters participate in SHOC Day, which typically happens later in the spring.

This year’s SHOC Student Leadership team is going to offer two Q&A sessions next week to discuss high school scheduling with current 8th grade and 9th grade students. The course selection window for 2021 is now open, and the SHOC team is offering these sessions to give  students the opportunity to ask questions regarding courses at UHS. This will be a staff supervised, but student-run event. SHOC is anticipating that these sessions will help students to have a better understanding of the daily schedule, anticipated workload, time management, and student life at the high school. There may be questions that we are unable to answer and students will be directed to the appropriate adult for follow up. 

We would like to encourage you to submit your schedule questions ahead of time. Use this link to submit a question ahead of time.  

There are two sessions scheduled, but students only need to register for one session. The sessions will begin at 2 PM and run until 3 PM. These are student-only sessions, but at least one of them will be recorded and made available for students who are unable to attend each day.

Please remember that course selection requests need to be complete by Friday, February 26 on Powerschool.
