MATHCOUNTS
The Patton Mathcounts is an after school math program to help students improve math problem-solving skills and select students to participate in the annual Chester County Mathcounts Competition.
What is “Mathcounts”?
Mathcounts itself is a non-profit organization established in 1983. It provides engaging math programs to US middle school students to improve math problem solving skills and build math learning confidence. Many mathcounts alumni have successfully participated in a variety of high school STEM activities and continued to make great achievements throughout their academic and professional careers.
Mathcounts Competition is widely recognized as the largest and most prestigious math competitions for middle school students (grades 6-8) in US. Each year Patton middle school participates in the Sixth Grade Mathcounts competition (for 6th graders only) and Chapter Mathcounts competition (for 7-8th graders) hosted by Chester County where top performers in the Chester County Chapter will advance to Pennsylvania State and National Mathcounts Competitions.
