We were once again thrilled to be invited by the Brandywine River Museum of Art to exhibit our student's work, and x our young musicians perform on June 5 as we opened "Imagine Brandywine" at the River Museum. Guess who is on the cover of the May 29th edition of the City Suburban News? It's Patton 7th grader, Emil Wu! She won first place in Junior Piano at the Tri-County 77th Annual Youth Festival and will be performing at the winners' recital on June 9th at 3 PM at Montgomery County Community College's Science Theater. Congrats, Emily!
Hey, Patton Hawks! Check out the Unionville Math Initiative Academy! It's A student-run math and coding camp in August aimed to foster early interest in math and computer science and to allow students to engage in fun, creative problem solving!
Do you love to draw? Are you an artist? Then you need to create an original design for the Patton School Spirit Art Contest!! Give your design to either art teacher by May 31st. Three designs will be chosen for next year's Patton pride items!
Congratulations to all 40 Patton students who participated in the Chester County Speech and Debate Competition on Tuesday. Some of the highlights include: Natalie Chow placed 3rd in Prose. Stella Tucker placed 3rd in Oratory. The debate team of Aria Zutshi and Josh Vallabhaneni were semi-finalists in Debate. And the debate team of Aryan Abbaraju and Akash Patel won the Debate tournament with a unanimous 3-0 final decision over Lionville.

This year the Southern Chester County Soccer Camp directed by Unionville Boys Soccer Coach Mr Garber will be held the week of July 29th thru August 2nd at the UHS/Patton Campus. Brochures can be picked up in the main office or downloaded on-line at www.unionvilleboyssoccer.com
Josh Vallabhaneni won first place at the Chester County Student Invention Convention on Monday night - and it came with a nice trophy and check! His innovation, Baby Saver - Hot Car Alert Device, took top middle school honors at the event held at the CCIU as part of the Leadership Transformed event. Way to go, Josh! You made us #PattonProud!!
One of the high school’s robotics teams, Flaming Phoenix, is looking for new members from 7th to 12th grade. We participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge, building robots to compete in annual challenges. This year, Flaming Phoenix had one of its most successful seasons ever, making it all the way to Detroit, Michigan to compete in the World Championship. There, our team was nominated for the second time as a design finalist with one of the top six robot designs in the world. Our season runs primarily from September to April, and we meet two to three times a week.

Are you interested in robotics? Then come join a robotics team! First Tech Challenge (FTC) is a program where middle and high schoolers create robots, compete against other schools (even teams around the world) with those robots, and work with their community. This is a fun and enjoyable challenge that will broaden your knowledge of STEM and teamwork. Our Spring Showcase & Celebration was a fantastic showcase of student work, classroom projects, music labs, drone flying, Get More Math contests, rock wall, poetry scavenger hunt, Patton Garden tours, printmaking & weaving, My Story digital portfolios and more! This morning we had a mini assembly with C Team to present Mr. Ragland with the Classcraft - Teacher of the Year award! Classcraft is a new, game-based approach to compliment instruction. It's designed to encourage participation, good behavior, and 21st-century skills like collaboration. Only 4 teachers across the United States were selected for this award. Congratulations, Mr. Ragland! And Channel 6 was there to record the event!

On May 2nd, Lucas Johnson, Alonzo Felix-Tejeda, Pablo Dominguez, Jade Boruk, Jaden Barnett-Matthews, Patrick Clisham and Ayaan Khan competed in the Special Olympics Track and Field Meet at Coatesville High School. All Patton Athletes did an excellent job and came home with many ribbons. Thank you to our Best Buddies Ronan Burns, Jack Finnerty, Tucker Bovard, Zafyr Ahmad and Harold Felix-Tejeda for cheering us on! Here is a video highlighting some of our events.
The UHS Boys Volleyball teams present their Youth Volleyball Mini-Clinc for any UCF 1st through 8th grade boy who wants to learn the basics of volleyball. The clinic will be held May 10 from 3-6 PM (for middle school students) and from 4-6 PM (for elementary school students) at the UHS main gym. What a treat it was to have Laurie Halse Anderson visit Patton to speak to our students on May 2. She also spent time talking with students individually, signing books and enjoying conversations over lunch. Thanks to Mrs. Kropp and the PTO for making it possible for Laurie to come to Patton!
The Indian Post is having a trivia competition fundraiser tomorrow Tuesday, April 30 after school in the high school LGI from 2:45-4:00pm. Here is the Google Form for registration. There will be food and a chance to win raffle prizes. Admission is $5, and the funds will go towards the cost of printing the Indian Post newspaper.
Patton Middle School Knowledge Bowl participants had the opportunity to compete in the America Answers Quiz Bowl.
The 6th grade students that participated are Stella Tucker, Will Neuberger, Anand Shah, Thomas Gibson, Gareth Liu and Reese Budicak. This team earned 1st place in the 6th grade America Answers Quiz Bowl. They had a team score of 1339 out of 1366 - 98% correct. These 6th graders competed against 80 other schools across the country.
The 7th grade students that participated are Chi Xu, Liam Church, Arjun Suryawanshi, David Perkins and Jacob Sauder. This team earned 11th place in the 7th grade America Answers Quiz Bowl. They had a team score of 1191out of 1366 - 88% correct. These 7th graders competed against 58 other schools across the country.
The 8th grade students that participated are Audrey Smith, Nina Lee, Ria Saxena, Amy Goodman,Ryan O'Leary, Vivian Gushurst, Dimitrios Angelakos, Akash Patel. This team earned 3rd place in the 8th grade America Answers Quiz Bowl. They had a team score of 1343 out of 1366 - 99% correct. These 8th graders competed against 84 other schools across the country.
